Sausalito Evacuation Drill Set for June 28 to Boost Community Readiness
Practice makes prepared. The Southern Marin Fire District, in partnership with the Sausalito Police Department and local emergency preparedness agencies, invites Sausalito residents and businesses to participate in a localized Evacuation Drill on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Residents who are subscribed to AlertMarin in the “Rodeo North” neighborhood (Zone SAU-E009, pictured below) will receive a message via AlertMarin on June 28th at 10am directing them to safely practice their evacuation plan and meet public safety personnel at MLK Park, 610 Coloma Street promptly at 11am. You do not have to reside in the targeted zone to participate in the drill; all are welcome.
With wildfire risk and climate emergencies on the rise, community evacuation drills are more important than ever. This event is designed to:
“Practicing evacuation is one of the most effective ways to prepare for emergencies,” said Leah Curtis, Preparedness and Education Coordinator at Southern Marin Fire District. “It gives people the tools and confidence to respond quickly and safely when a real emergency strikes.”

The event will feature a brief presentation at 11am from the Sausalito Police Department and the Southern Marin Fire District followed by a Q & A session.
Everyone is welcome—bring your Go Bag to be checked by SMFD. A limited number of Go Bags and supplies will be given away at the event.
